Drizzling Land

The third park today was the one located out to the East and was yet another new find that I'd come across in researching Delhi. The wonderfully named "Drizzling Land"

Similar to the other parks today, the ticket staff were not expecting any guests despite being open and the one here called the park owner to pop over for a chat. Again I explained the holiday, showing him some photos of where I'd been told him that I would like to enjoy the park and even if the rides couldn't be run would it be OK to take photos? Once he knew my enthusiasm was legit and that I wasn't taking photos for any commercial reasons he said he'd arrange something for me. 5 minutes later one of the senior peeps accompanied by 2 other chaps came over and offered to walk me around the park.

The park has a very unique entrance. How many can you name where you enter through the mouth of a giant lizard.

The park is very small in size with a less than 20 rides

This is their newest ride, called Disc Coaster the ride is a half-pipe variant with revolving seats. The ride is powered the entire time so can't really qualify as a coaster. It's very similar to a ride we did in Calgary last year which we concluded was a spin ride...so the same can apply here.

The park clearly aims to appeal to all age groups.

They do have a coaster, a powered dragon ride with a custom train to make it look more serpent-like. Now it didn't look like I was going to get to ride anything. The 3 chaps were just giving me a guided tour of the park. But then the older of the three started going each ride and starting them up. The manager chap then asked me to get on each ride whilst he took my photos. Now not wanting to upset the park in cherry picking only the coaster I obliged them and rode everything they opened up.

So, I rode the bumpy dragon spin ride.

I rode the powered half pipe, which was actually pretty decent.

and then I got the coaster. The relevance of the third man became apparent as he was put on the coaster with me. I guess they don't allow single riders on this. Result!

The final ride that they run for me was the ballerina spin ride. Now on this one the engineer kept turning up the power, making this harder and harder to ride. I don't know how high these can go but at one point he cranked this so high I was almost flung out of the ride, which the manager spotted and shouted to the engineer to slow it down; he laughed in response. Perhaps they were using me to see what the rides were capable of. Needless to say I came off laughing hysterically.

The park started out as a dry park but most of the park's expansion has been taken up with water slide  attractions. In America a "rain dance" is something the native americans do. In London it was the name of a popular rave when we were kids. In this part of the world the rain dance is a peculiar attraction featuring a showered environments with lights and music. The better ones like here have live DJs.

A peculiar looking bin!

Having walked me around the park the guys then took me to one of their offices where they offered me some water and we chatted for a bit. Once done they then walked me out of the park and wished me well...and I wish them well too. You certainly can't fault their hospitality!

Drizzling Land can be found in Ghaziabad on the Meerut Road.

When driving back we passed this crazy looking sound system. I think it's used in weddings!
