Fun World

Located in the centre of the city Fun World is a fairly young park being 20 years old but still the oldest park in the city.

A nice big entrance but another empty one. Like some of the Chennai parks it was nice that they were open despite the low attendances.

Wave your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care!
I suspect this used to hold something up before being moved here. It's not a very common Buddha pose.

WTF!! Why does this park have a statue of WWF's Yokozuna? How random.

Just in case there's any doubt that it's not him.

The park has a midway style entrance with a nice selection of family friendly rides.

This is a rather weird ride. I can only imagine how sick inducing sitting in the centre would be.

Another WWF alumni this time The Great Khali who being from India can be explained.

A shame he wasn't very good (to be expected given he was over 7ft tall) but a perfect opportunity to sneak in the great Khalimania video with the superb Brendan Burns story of how he heckled the wrestler.

The rides in this park were all really well maintained. I guess with nobody to ride them, the park staff could invest all their time into cleaning the rides and making them nice.

2 more wrestlers but I've no idea who they're supposed to be. The latter one is dressed like John Cena but he doesn't look anything like that.

Wrestlers aside the first coaster of the day was Space Cars, a common track design in China which has found its way to India. With a simple lift hill and helix then loop back to the station, it's not a complicated ride but it rides well and with the operator sending me down around 3 times it was more than enough of a Space Car ride experience for me.

This is not a real plane.

Basic fire fighting equipment probably sourced from the ground immediately behind it.

The breakdance is quite a common ride. I think it's the one ride I've seen in every park so far.

The second coaster is another import from China, a looping coaster with a more compact footprint than it should have.

This one was the most painful coaster of the trip and it got off to a great start in that I was allowed to ride it on my own. The lack of any other people in the park meant that the ride operators really couldn't tell me to wait. However when going through the loop I think I smacked my head and momentarily blacked out despite bracing for it. (Chinese home-made coasters are rarely good)

Even Superman knows this ride isn't a good one. Is that the most "I need to pee" pose you've ever seen a superhero in?

Awww, what a sweet way to announce your ride being down.

Local hawks took the opportunity to rest upon it

They also took over the big wheel next door.

These are not coasters, ok?

The saddest thing any theme can endure is having one person on the dodgems :(

and with Spiderman showing the way out it was time to say good bye to Fun World. Not a bad park at all and I was happy to get both rides despite getting a concussion from one of them.

Fun World can be found in the centre of Bangalore, north of the Bangalore Palace.

  1. Nice post on Fun World ,a park in the heart of Bangalore City, with various entertaining activities and rides. Fun World Bangalore entry fee , its timing etc are different for different categories and rides.
