Tikuji-ni Wadi

Today's travels would take me to two parks in the North East of the Mumbai mall beginning with one that some people have been to before: Tikuji ni Wadi

Located up a dirt track not far from the malls of Thane Tikuji is a park that should only be known to the locals.

The park, hidden amongst the trees behind a high wall opened in 1983 markets itself as a "serene relaxation under expanse of tranquil trees". Well that's not why I was here :)

A nice big corporately sponsored sign displays each attraction that you have to try to locate within the heavily forested park.

The park is very pretty and if you're running low on oxygen there are one or two...thousand trees to revive you.

Most of the rides are clustered together in a little children's park within a park, but there were no signs of the two rollercoasters that the park has being amongst them.

After a little searching I eventually located the first of the rides, a caterpillar coaster that cut it's way through the trees. If you are visiting the park bear in mind that the rides don't open when the park does. Today they weren't running until 11, an hour after the park opens.

More odd kiddy things.

The second coaster was located near the back-left corner of the park and was the first and only spinning coaster on the trip. In China these are ten-a-plenty but obviously rare here. Funny how your opinions on rides change when you're deprived or have too much of them.

Overall the quality of rides in the park was pretty good

although they could do a little more with the animals.

The only other 3 guests in the park wait for the park train ride to pass before entering Dinosaur World.

Only the train wasn't moving, in fact it looks like it hadn't moved in quite some time.

I found a second park within the park in the bottom corner of the park, but none of the rides really stood out here.

Except for the dive bomber, which I wouldn't want to squeeze into. I doubt it would run with just one passenger anyway.

The air bike might have been fun if there wasn't pieces of track missing.

A really nice statue which I hope is of Vishnu (apologies if I got that wrong)

The park is alright, not amazing. It's certainly not a full-day park, barely a half-day in fact. For the enthusiasts this is the park in Mumbai that you'll likely spend least time in.

Tikuji ni Wadi is located in West Thane just off the Ghodbandhar Road
