EVP World

A rather quick report on this park.

EVP World was (notice the past tense) a large theme park located alongside the NH4 highway. It advertised itself as the Number 1 Amusement Park in Chennai and opened in 2012. From their promotional video I love that they have the spinning mushroom from Takeshi's Castle.

In October 2013 a visitor to the park was killed following an accident on one of the spin rides and the owner of the park went into hiding. He was eventually caught and went to prison: the park has sat empty ever since.

The entrance was pretty good inspired by those upside down buildings in the US such as in Orlando.

From satellite imagery the park is home to a small dragon coaster but with the park not due to re-open any time soon it's unlikely that anyone will get to ride it.

EVP World and Queens Land are on the same road and with the opening of a new expressway between Chennai and Bangalore getting to the park is slightly quicker than it used to be. It was also apparent that most people hadn't realised the road was open as we had it to ourselves. Apparently the only people regularly using it were kids racing their cars. Considering how busy the main roads are in Chennai this was quite weird to see.
